Your area may have higher humidity than my area, so try to do watering intervals...but keep watering..it loves water, high heat and direct sun during summer. Got to encourage those leaves to grow actively and along with the new leaves the cluster of new buds should form.
It is only towards late fall where I gradually decrease watering frequency once overnight temps starts going in the 50F range..and once it goes below 50F overnight, time to move it indoors.
When winter comes, then I stop watering and allow it to go winter dormant.
