Getting closer but I think it will end up being some very similar variation in the Mari' Song. Does your label say Mari's Song 'CTM 217' HCC/AOS? That's my plants "full name".

It will be interesting to see what the coloration ends up being. You have the same plant variety as I, so the flowers should be exactly the same. Perhaps mine is mislabeled. Whistling

Got to pipe in. Both of these are Mari's Song at different stages. Lisa's dorsal and lateral sepals will probably pink as they age. Is the photo your own, Ken? If so, was this late in the bloom period?

I think it was perhaps a week after opening up, but it was taken last year and I can't be certain.

I have some that change as they mature the blooms, and also some that are different colors at different times of the year. Eg. if one blooms in the fall then again in the spring it can be quite different.

Mine are all outdoors, so I guess temperatures and humidity might affect the pigmentation. Lisa, your flowers are just gorgeous and the plant looks really healthy, too.

Thanks Elaine, this is my first try with anything other than the phalaenopsis. I purchased 4 from Lindsey; mari's song, Husky boy Romeo, mtssa. Sheilob, and pot Burana beauty. Mtssa.sheilob has a flower spike.

updated picture on MarI's song - getting more color. Thumbs up

Regardless, whether this or mine is Mari's Song, you have one beautiful flower there. I am going to copy the pictures that you have posted along the way, and keep them in my orchid library. It will be interesting to compare them with my Mari's Song when they flower again. It does not look like I will get flowers this year. Don't know why.

Thanks for posting the progression of the coloration of your flowers.

Ken,

I think Kathy is right and they both are it. I am in northern KY and have it outside on my front porch (since early July.) I am sure you have more heat than I do and that may effect the saturation of color. We have had extremely hot weather early July followed by very cool weather from mid July till now. Just starting to get sweltering again.
