My focus is mostly on bonsai these days. I can stand and work on a tree or trees for hours, only coming out of the state of mesmerization 1) when I need the restroom 2) when DW thinks to tell me it's dark. I'm really reluctant to use the word 'zen', but that's precisely what it has become after 40 years of practice.

Zen: a state of calm attentiveness in which one's actions are guided by intuition rather than by conscious effort. That about nails it.

Today's word for mine is just "white".

All of the planters are down and stored in the garage, and all that's left of the perennials that I didn't cut to the ground are covered in snow. Hopefully some beneficial bugs are overwintering under the snow cover on them and the birds got to finish off any seeds left.

My garden today = crunchy.

Just a bunch of dead stuff since "the big freeze." Need to weed-wacker all of that stuff down to the ground to join the mulch, be the mulch.
