A lovely banner with a suitably Japanese feel to it. Kirigami is a Japanese art form somewhat like origami, only kirigami involves both folding *and* cutting paper to make 3-D "sculptures".
This sparked a memory from 10-15 years ago of a "book sculptor" who shared her amazing work anonymously with various Edinburgh libraries:
