Pruning southern moon yedda indian hawthorne

I really like the Yedda Indian Hawthorne for its dark-glossy leaves however want to keep it at 3-4 ft tall max.
I'm told it gets 5 to 6 ft tall. Can it be kept shorter- 3-4ft without it looking weird and lanky?
