Salvias Celebrating Gardening: 2015
Hi I am a new member as of today!
This is my rare treat iris
I am seeking a plicata or bi tone iris
that has sturdy stems so I do not have to stake it
and large ruffled blooms as I enjoy
photographing iris and showing them to
nursing home residents along with my other
perennials such as daylilys, clematis, phlox,
and perennial salvias and coneflowers.

does anyone have a stand out , show stopper iris that is as beautiful in form and size and colors like Rare Treat and where to buy it
that would be a great addition to my zone 8
Sheris healing flower garden?

I want to photograph it as photography is my hobby.

Here is Rare treat open today at
my garden.

Thank you for any responses

Awesome pictures. Welcome to All Things Plants, the best forum anywhere.

I'm in Zone 8a Fort Worth Tx. It doesn't get as cold here as a lot of irises like. I grow a lot of Tom Burseens irises that is a local hybridizer. You can look at my post to see a lot of what I grow here. My post is titled: "Whats blooming this year".

Welcome, Welcome....we love new members. Google Superstition Iris Gardens and Rockytop Iris Gardens and order their catalogs. They have great selectios, good prices, and probably list a number of nice plicatas.

yes, I like the intermediate irises like 'Rare Treat'. You can add A tall bearded iris like 'Jesse's song' which will bloom later & have the same coloration.
