I know this berry grows on Yew Trees, but never noticed them in hedge form, am I imagining things ?

I understand that there are both male and female trees, and that the female ones produce poisonous berries, but what of this hedge form ?

Yew trees shrubs are coniferous evergreen shrubs
Yews (Taxus) are a varied group of coniferous evergreen shrubs and trees that produce seed cones called yew berries. Depending on the variety you choose, yews are typically used as a hedge, screen, or specimen plant. The shrubs can grow in most sunlight conditions, which makes these very adaptable to any area
They grow in alkaline or acid souls , shade or full sun. I have a specimen small miniature weeping yew it's a very slow grower and extremely tough plant and long lived.
The cones are editable but be sure to remove the center seed is poisonous.
They are easy care and great show stoppers in any garden.

Yew is dioecious, meaning that male and female flowers grow on separate trees. These are visible in March and April. Male flowers are insignificant white-yellow globe-like structures. Female flowers are bud-like and scaly, and green when young but becoming brown and acorn-like with age.

I don't mean to be rude, but have you been living under a rock? Thinking You're living in London, UK, which is FILLED with yew hedges. I think they're the most popular one over there.

There are alot of plants that naturally grow into trees that can be trained as hedges: yew (duhh), hornbeam, beech, maple, hawthorn, arborvitae etc...
