I agree, a Wren of some type; the coloration makes me think possibly a Carolina Wren but there are probably a few types of Wren's found in Tx.

Ok... you're right... I've been calling Carolina wrens "house wrens".

At my previous house, I had an outside kitchen with a roof and 3 walls... and the wrens would come in to feed their chicks while I had a group there drinking morning coffee...

And... here's a pic of one that built her nest in my current house, when I first brought it out:

I spotted a Carolina Wren out my kitchen window a couple of days ago, it was checking out a spot where it built a nest by the air conditioner last year but no sign yet of nest building this year. I've been hearing their songs lately and although they are said to be year round residents here in Florida, I don't see them that often.
