Oops , sorry. I totally had not read your previous post about visiting JoAnne's garden before posting today. Great that you've already seen her fabulous garden and gotten some plants.

PEOPLE come into my garden and most don't know the difference. I take them close to look at both the DAYLILY plant and the true lily plant.Yes some even say, not going to buy a daylily because of those darn lily beetles. I tell them the truth about which ones are eaten. They mostly say oh, then buy DAYLILIES. I even get a sepal or petal in their mouth as well. It's great to EDUCATE.

What a lovely lot you Daylily growers are in the States, so generous with your plants and advice.

I live in France but am soon moving back to the UK and my biggest regret is that I cannot take any of my collection of daylilies with me, not even the seeds. This year was so hot and dry my plants all went brown and there were very few poor quality seeds that formed, so not even got any to smuggle through. The plants look lovely and green now but too late to flower again.

I just hope that I can find some like minded people in the UK that would be willing to help me out with plants or seeds without having to spend another fortune on plants from the nursery.

I love reading about plants and the way people garden in the States as it is quite an education for me as there is so much unknown and new names for me to check out.

Not a daylily post, but I went up on the Blue Ridge Parkway today. It was chilly, but absolutely GORGEOUS. The fall colors were in full effect.

I know, I know, no daylilies. Nothing is currently blooming so I'm not expecting much until summer next year. I wish it would get here already!

I made four separate porch pots today and yesterday. Each one contains five different plants.


Our nursery was doing Make & Takes. (Buy the planter and five plants and mix and match them within the pot). I bought four pots and the plants and here I am...

TB iris 'Sugar Blues' rebloomed for the second time.


Third rebloom stalk and final bloom on this NOID.


There's lavender, mums, dahlias, rudbeckia and more still in bloom. Sadly, no daylily scapes!

Monty, I love the look of Sugar Blues and it's on my list to plant in my garden next Spring. I have Superstition, which I love, and new Tall Bearded Iris 'Valentino' and 'Mother Earth'. I want to add a few more - moving out the daylilies that the deer mow and planting Iris and other plants that deer like less.

Donna ~ I'm thoroughly impressed with Sugar Blues so far. Reliable rebloom and such a great scent. Give me a shout next fall and I'll send a snippet!
