Hi & welcome! What a great window for a plant to enjoy!
From this angle, it looks like a giant plant in a tiny pot. It's probably not, maybe add a pic from the side?
The amount of roots, combined with their ability to gather moisture and deliver it to foliage will determine how much foliage a plant is able to sustain at 1 time. In a very rainy area, banana plants have tons of leaves. If it stops raining for a while, most of the lower leaves will turn brown and shrivel as the plant absorbs their moisture to sustain itself.
We can investigate to see if the soil is getting too dry and the roots do not have moisture to deliver to the foliage, or if the soil is so soggy that it's making the roots ill/rotting them, so they are unable to do their job of delivering moisture to the foliage. Which do you think might be happening?
