Do leaves grow back on the exact location of the same stem after dropping? in the Plumeria forum

I noticed that the stem are bare after the leaves dropped off.

Only new leaves emerge from the tip.

to the Plumeria forum @Germaine. The new leaves and flower inflo of plumerias will only grow from the tips and not from the nodes of old leaves that dropped.
