Oxfordshire UK
Just wanted to share with everyone, our 7 year old plant, that's planted in the ground had its first flower which I thought amazing as we are in Oxfordshire uk. Now we have bananas growing, such a shame we won't be able to watch them grow due frosts. Anyone else in the UK had bananas?

It's hard to tell from your image but your plant looks like a Musa Basjoo. These are ornamental not edible bananas. They are among the hardiest of bananas and are mainly used in Asia where they are from as a textile product. Bananas that produce edible fruit have about an 18 month cycle. Which is why people in temperate climate may not get fruit. Frost doesn't really matter. If the leaves of a banana tree get frost damage the plant doesn't care. The developing fruit and trunk can slow survive frost easily. But an actual freeze that kills the flower stalk and the trunk will affect getting visible fruit
