Sheika is a great looking white one.

Don't laugh at this poor thing. It's always the first to bloom for me in zone 5 and it reminds me of where all these fancy dayliles got their start. This is middendorffii var. esculenta. Besides blooming so early for me, it also reblooms in the fall which many of the modern daylilies that are listed as rebloomers fail to do.

Why would anyone laugh? It is hardy, blooms first to brighten the remnants of winter, reblooms, is pretty, and is historic. Winner, winner to me.

Dot, again this year, I really like your Pirate Moon.

I have that one too Susan and mine just started blooming yesterday.

Susan, I envy your species daylily for its early bloom season and rebloom. It may not have all the bells and whistles of many hybrids, but if it's blooming this early, it's a keeper
