Tink, what is that last cross? I'm fascinated by the yellow coloration over the purplish pink. Also, is it pleated?

Michele - I like the Buddy's Black Jack seedling even without teeth. And I love the colors on the Bama Sunshine seedling.

What an interesting flower that last one is. I'd be tempted to let it bloom more to see what happens but I guess that's the biologist more than the gardener talking.

The others are very nice - vivid coloration you're getting!

That cross is Fern Stone x Dr Stump. I don't think it's pleated, What you are seeing is just the petals kind of folding in a bit and it's probably because it isn't opened all the way.

Here's one of James Hall's that is doing the pleated, cristate thing. I don't know the cross because I didn't dig his tag out to look. I haven't paid much attention to it since it's not mine, but I believe every bloom has done this type thing.

Continually amazes me how seeds from the same parents can look so different. Don't know WHY it surprises me given the fact that I am one of four children from the same parents and t'aint not a one of us anything alike, but it does. Hilarious!

Thank you for the info, Tink. Are you going to hold it over a year to see if it settles out?

Your welcome Juli. That bloom is still on the first scape, I'll post a rebloom photo once it reblooms.

OldGardener, I will see what it does on rebloom. If it still looks awful and nothing going for it then it will be composted. I don't have enough room to keep too many things a second year if they didn't do well on rebloom first year.

Not what I expected with the dark colors. First bloom of this cross, of about 10 seedlings.
