Ah ha, bet you're right there Susan.

I am just using up my present bottle as a root stimulant, and certainly no longer spraying it on my orchids.

They don't miss it, either. Other than 'the usual' woes they have never done better.

Maybe I should start a new topic but.......

Has anyone tried Eleanor's VF-11?

I found one of those huge bottles at a closeout store "Big Lots" 2 years ago for 5.00. I thought for that price I could not lose. I have found great results with some plants that I had tried everything to make them happy and it seemed to work.

No, but I looked online to see what I could find about it. I couldn't find a label to see what the nutrients are sourced from, but it is a pretty weak solution. I expect if you use it frequently enough it will work. I thought it was interesting what they said about it being acid enough to be used to prevent powdery mildew. I have not seen it available in any local stores or have my orchid club friends ever mentioned it I wonder if it has humic acid as an ingredient? What I did find were gobs of testimonials and lots of hype. It kind of reminds me of Super Thrive, tons of promises, low on information. I'll reserve judgement until I can read the lable.

I heard about it on a Hoya forum a few years back. Everyone was saying it was the best thing since baked bread for getting their hoyas to bloom.

Now that you bring up the acid comment. I remember someone saying you could make your own by mixing tree stump killer with a large ratio (I do not remember the ratio) with water. I do not know where he got the info ingredients or if he was correct.

Because I mixed it in all my water for plants and the Orchid died I did not think it was because of the VF because my past experience was killing Orchids, but it might have been because of the VF. So I will not use it on the Orchids but it has worked good on my other plants.
