Diphasiastrum digitatum is not native to western North America. Might this be Diphasiastrum complanatum? There is another Diphasiastrum species in the PNW, Diphasiastrum sitchense, but I think it looks more like D. complanatum. Thinking

Thanks Virginia for your comments. After a bit of research, I've found that it is not Diphasiastrum sitchense, but likely Diphasiastrum complanatum, which is found in the Kootenay area as well as to the west from Oregon to Alaska.

Since it does not resemble the one photo by robertduval14, with the common name of Northern Running-Pine, I will have to look up the other three complanatum entries.

Research for another day.
Here are some more photos taken from the same location and on the same day of my two submissions to the Fan Clubmoss entry. If there is anyone out there who can tell me which category it belongs in, feel free to let me know.
Thanks. Smiling

I suggested D. complanatum after comparing to online photos such as those at iNaturalist. I think it looks pretty similar. It's a lovely plant.

Thank you so much for this link to iNaturalist, Virginia. It was one of the websites I was exploring for comparisons, but I hadn't been led to this precise page! It looks like a winner. Thumbs up

You're welcome. Clubmosses and their close relations are so cool. Would love to grow one here...
