The flowers are supposed to be upright! This plant is so often in a pot in less than all day sun, with sideways flowers.

It's so strange that the blooms would come from lower parts of the plant, then cover part of itself with open blooms. Do the blooms usually occur on new growth, toward the outside of the patch? That would enable the blooms to lean on the ground. They're so heavy.

Do you ever see seeds on this kind of plant where you are?

No fruit, no seeds. Presumably it is not self fertile.

I have not really studied where the flowers come from, so I can't really answer that question. They seem to fall toward the ground only when they are older and sagging.

Very interesting. Have you see any plants make a flower from the tip? In pics and on my own plants, I only remember seeing buds form on the sides, on the lower half of a "leaf."

No, I don't remember every seeing that. Seems like a sideways thing mostly, to the extent I've really paid attention.

Same. Such an unusual plant. It works best for me when I discard the older growth every few years and start fresh with the good looking new growth. IDK if that is better for the plant but the older leaves get beat-up looking.

Yeah, they tend to look pretty scrappy when they age.
