I have found it helpful to keep those on my wishlist starred and just exclude dibs- that way I know if back in stock. The first year I participated, when something ran out, I removed it- and then folks said they restocked for the next night. I have restocked a few items including beets- which I know are a few years old but all germinated beautifully for me last year. I also added some hatch chilis, beautiful butterfly weed, and a couple others including a gorgeous candelabra primrose. This is stunning among my hostas in the spring. This morning I found native Culver's root and potentilla if anyone is interested- I will add them.

@Jlee160 are the culver's root you have listed spoken for? If so, and you have more, I'd love to try direct sowing them... they're so beautiful.

I just found my French Culinary Dandelion (2019) seeds! I meant to test them for viability earlier but they got lost in the shuffle Hilarious! so I'm just now testing them. But I can add some if anyone is interested in giving them a try. They're bigger than the wild variety and grow well in a container. @Johannian would you like to try some, I know your sister loves dandelions, maybe she would like to give them a try?

Here's the database link: French Culinary Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale 'Nouvelle')

I'll try to remember to add dandelion to my wishlist. It has holistic qualities but I can't think what they are right now. I've ordered dandelion root extract for my dog but I can't remember what it was for.

Okay, Kathy, I made a note too. Thumbs up Dandelion root is most known for it's liver healing but has many and every part of the plant is medicinal.

Is it just french culinary dandelion, or is the common dandelion also having the same properties?

Hammer, the regular dandelion has all the medicinal qualities too. The wild variety (Taraxacum officinale) is the one used in all the medial studies. It is powerful medicine indeed. Thumbs up

I did some research into natural herbalism during lockdown. Going from memory, dandelion is antibiotic, anti viral, antibacterial, anti inflammatory, diuretic, boosts gut health, stabilizes blood sugars, lowers blood pressure, helps regulate cholesterol. I'm still researching how much & how often, & how to prepare.

I'd definitely like to give them a try, thanks! It's actually me who likes the dandelions; I made the dandelion tea some months ago and it was gross, but you told me that I was supposed to roast the roots first. I was just making "raw" dandelion tea, which wasn't great. Rolling on the floor laughing

I also was looking into more natural remedies. While I work in the pharmaceutical industry, I don't trust it and would prefer natural remedies, so I'm interested

I've also done some research on dandelions (we get so many around here), and I read that some people just clean them and toss 'em into salads. I tried them in tea (dandelion tea is said to be very healthy) but it was a fail the first time around. I'm going to try again next year.

Interesting. I'll have to look up dandelion jelly. Hammer, have you had it before, or is it something new you're trying?

What made popular culture decide dandelions were "weeds", exactly? Between how important they are to native pollinators and how useful they are medicinally (and just for eating, both human and animal), it seems suspiciously weird we spend so much time trying to keep them OUT of our lawns. I leave most of them but I've caught my neighbor in my yard digging them out (to be fair, I think she's allergic, so I try to keep the ones closest to her house cut down) and when I first moved in the neighbor across the street (who is not allergic!) came over specifically to tell us to keep the dandelions under control, lol. I'm like, my dude, that is a losing battle you're trying to fight.

I want to try those pink dandelions I see on Baker Creek someday. In my overly ambitious imagination, my efforts will result in the whole neighborhood having delightful pink dandelions and magically they won't be as allergenic and everyone will love them and they'll all clap. (You can see how realistic I think this scenario is, but I keep myself entertained!)
