I'm a bit of a Helleborus nut and grow quite a few from my own seeds every year, including the one in the banner. I love that they are easy to grow, do not mind dry shade and that the blooms last for several months. Only drawback is that they are poisonous, so remember to wear gloves when handling!
I agree that they are not the easiest of plants to photograph, but I believe some professional breeders are trying to create new cultivars with more upward-facing blooms - all the better to enjoy and photograph! Crossing Fingers!
