Working with wet soil can compact air spaces. Wait until the soil dries out before attempting to work in it.

We finally got some much needed rain and I thought it would be a good time to plant, but better wait until we dry out a little. You brought this topic up at the right time I needed it. Instead I'll just pull out a lot of weeds.
