Oh I wish I'd seen Anya's message earlier - I didn't think they started the sale until Friday, so I didn't look until today! Dang.

I ordered Hillary and Gordon E. Simonson.

Does anyone have them both and know if they look good next to each other or should I put another color in-between the two?

Can't wait to see everyone's blooms in the spring!

Does anyone know if there is a big visual difference between yellow bird vs vanilla schnapps? Based off description, it sounds like yellow bird is shorter and probably a more reliable on blooming as double?

I always take advantage to this sale! Planned to stay up late and get my order in, 11 pm in CO so shouldn't have been that hard, next thing I knew it was 2 am! Still managed to get Icarus, new to me, Alice Harding and Vesuvian for the rock planting spots leading down to the back yard behind the new house, and Tranquil Dove to replace the one that died.

Zellycat, Hillary and GES didn't bloom at the same time in my CO garden but they were in different parts of the yard. I had the same plants opening 2 weeks different between the front and back beds due to shady winter conditions in the back. Hopefully someone else can confirm or debunk my statement about different bloom periods, can vary from micro-climate to micro-climate, though.

Helen, I've never seen a Yellow Bird bloom IRL so no help. Don't even remember seeing it at spring convention competition, kinda weird. That alone would've made me grab that one up if I were looking for herbaceous this year.

Oh glad you got some roots, Liz! Thanks for letting me know they might not bloom at the same time since from pictures, it looks like they could clash.

If it is helpful, I would not consider Vanilla Schnapps yellow, it that is the color you are looking for. I don't have Yellow Bird at this time, so I can not tell you a visual difference, but in my zone 5, VS took a couple years to show a nice full flower, which I think can be normal as a cultivar gets established.

Thanks everyone! I end up getting yellow bird, nosegay, sugar n spice, and clown. I was going to get fairy princess instead of clown, but it went out of stock while I was checking out. I am in a buy now and find space later spree. Hilarious!

I saw Yellow Bird when Bob Johnson brought flowers of his future introductions at APS convention in 2018. My Vanilla Schnapps is very reliable in our garden, light yellow. Not sure how Yellow Bird flower is different, probably more double, not sure about the color.

I missed Adelman's 50% sale. I was checking their website before and after Thanksgiving and didn't see coupon, it was at the very bottom of the page. I am glad you got great deals on peonies.
