No kidding, I have a freeze warning tonight, a month early, tender succulents are in. Bees are tucked in under styrofoam boards and I closed the vent to the screened bottom board with some filter floss

Our first freeze happened about two weeks ago. We had warm weather really late into the season, but then the cold snap hit quickly. Got down to 9F three days ago, and it's stayed under 30F since then. Supposed to get a little bit warmer this week, in the low 40s, but gardening season is definitely over for us.

we will drop to 32, I'll lose a lot of my flowers but most are native and a lot are sheltered by trees. My carrot, broccoli and spinach seedlings should be ok, and if not I'm not worried about it. I wish I'd have brought my jalapeno pepper plant into the greenhouse, but I'll get it tomorrow, going to get a little colder tomorrow night

Alex, I left the cyclamen at the Dallas house. I do have one blooming that hitched a ride with one of the potted plants. It is blooming right now. I have some others ordered from Edelweiss Nursery. They will bloom in the spring.

Winter is just around the corner for us. We have been down to 31F but no frost yet. The wind is blowing every day now. We have had beautiful sunny weather for the last few days. Rain will be back Wednesday and temps up.
Wow, Nathaniel you and Johannian certainly are getting into winter. Johannian that is way to cold for me. Stay safe my friend.
Alice, looks like you are prepared for whatever comes.

Alex, I am so sorry, you wanted to know about my Oxallis, not cyclamen.
The O. lasiandra starts going dormant this time of year. The other two have come out of summer dormancy.

Look what 'China Doll' is doing. She is blooming on the stolons with offsets growing.

Interesting! I really love Oxalis, trying to find some sources to try getting some right now.

Is that considered false vivipary? Quite interesting. 'Pixie' is blooming for me right now.

The offsets are not growing from seed, as in vivipary, they are growing on the stolons. I have not had blooms form on the stolons before. Also, this is not a bloom stalk that is growing offsets along with blooms. These were normal stolons with offsets that started growing blooms.

Dancing Oaks has a nice variety of Oxalis. I don't think they are available this time of year.

Opps, forgot to give you a link: https://dancingoaks.com/apps/o...

Curtis, those will become available in 2024. The new series will all be smaller semps that will work well in tighter spots in the garden.
Thank you for posting the link.

Thank you Alice.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. So much to be thankful for.

We are having a mild November so far. Some rain, and right now a full week of sunshine. Hurray! We will be getting down to freezing this week.
Semps are all happy and doing their fall colors. It's fun when you have some that keep great color year round. This is the time of year I look to see how to better place different cultivars for fall/winter contrast. Makes the beds more interesting.

Can't wait till spring! I need new semps for a number of "vacated" containers. I'm sure these containers are feeling lonely.
