Will only go down to 49 this morning. And best I could tell we will not get below 40s now. But maybe I need to leave the tent just in case.

Yes, I keeep watching closely. We got rain today! Hurray! so first rain since my plants got out of the tent. I have a lot of "sunburned" succulents from being inside the tent for over a month. Unfortunately my only shade are is where the tent is.

But not too worried about the succulents they bounce back fast. They grow like weeds in my potted plants.

I've decided to keep my favorite tender plants in the porch for now, they show us going down into the mid 40's again next weekend. My large philodendrons seem pretty happy in the porch, and putting out some new growth. My orchids like it better outside, but not happy to keep moving back and forth, that can cause bud drop more than a few hours below 50.
This whole winter seems we go a few degrees colder than they have predicted, and I have two different thermometers outside, and one on my porch. If they say 45F we'll probably go down to 42.

Gorgeous weather this week, but yes, next Sunday is predicted down into the 40's here again, too. My temps stay a few degrees higher than the predictions, thankfully. My garden is very well protected by trees, neighbor's house to the north, and fences. I recently put up an old hurricane shutter as a windbreak on the west side of our garden, where the north wind after a cold front goes whipping through. Wondering if that's why my mango tree never sets fruit on that side . . . we'll see!

I've used another hurricane panel to block the wind from that side of my hoop house and it keeps the cloth cover from "breathing" in the wind gusts, so it's much warmer in there now, too.

Gosh, Linda @lilrhody8 I think you should be down here in Florida rather than up there where it's really winter!

It does! It is nice to watch them when they are soft and fluffy like that. I don't miss the cold 🥶

Yeah, I bet us Floridians complaining about 40 degree weather drives some people crazy LOL.

Bea, hard to believe zone 8b painting such a snowy scene, it is really beautiful.

First time I ever saw snow was in El Paso TX, and it did snow once while we were in S. Calif., heck I even saw some flakes falling three times here in Florida.

My dad was stationed in Maine, Delaware and Mass. so I have lived in snow, but I was a kid/teen and it was fun.

I like mostly warm weather area but I liked Michigan when I was younger Rolling on the floor laughing now I don't think I can go back to live there and even the visits has to be spring or summer or fall.

And…. yikes! Another 42 degrees forecast on Sunday! Good thing I still have the tent up!

Same here, Gigi. I just can't take the cold now, cold = pain for me. Too much arthritis from all the silly athletic endeavors I used to do when I was young. I visit my kids and grandkids when the weather is warm in Utah.

Grew up in British Columbia, (long cold, grey rainy winters) then we lived and raised our kids in Salt Lake City - 4000ft. of altitude, skiing like crazy every winter . . . finally got so I'd ski for a day then take a week to recover. That's when we moved to Florida. Shoveling snow just so you can get out to the grocery store was no fun.

Oh wow 😮 Elaine at least you enjoyed all the winter fun stuff. All I remember is working a lot of hours as I had 2 jobs. And my second job working in retail was my favorite job but that was my "for fun income" to buy what I want and ended up with breakeven only. 😂

You guys are depressing me, I have always hated cold weather. I keep telling our sons, who keep strongly suggesting it is time for us to live closer to family, that they are ungrateful. Hilarious! If they loved us they would live in Florida. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!
I think it is the constant gray weather in winter that bothers me most.

Oh I agree Alice, when we traveled to see fall weather in our motorhome the plan was four weeks, the first two weeks were so beautiful, then it got cold wet gray and no fall color. We didn't make the whole four weeks, I told my husband to take me back to Florida. LOL.

The days have been nice, but boy is it cold in the mornings, we've had about three the past four days at 48F for a couple hours. I've never had to wash my winter apparel so much Whistling .
