My only current non-NOID medium/large is "Bressingham Blue". Nowhere near what it might grow to be in size. 4th season, it's been a healthy specimen. Good color in full shade. I think a transplant will allow it to really fill out? I just popped a grouping of 5 or clearance priced hostas "near" where I want them to eventually grow. Haven't touched them since.

Once my truck is out of the shop, the shade garden project will commence! Hopefully enough $ left over for the topsoil and flagstone... Whistling

I divided and transplanted an old Blue Angel clump. It wasn't what I was expecting...more like digging a good sized shrub. Here's a pic from last year.

Those are beautiful Evan! I was looking at the pencil you have laying beside the hosta, not really paying attention then I realize it is a yard stick! LOL. Love that Guacamole also. Lovey dubby

The early summer blush on Blue Angel is amazing. Hosta have been such a revelation to me over the past few years. I relocated a Sum and Substance as well and the root mass was about 1/3 the size. Competing with Maple roots wasn't the best idea I've had.

Are you moving it to a better spot? They do not HAVE to be divided. Dividing will be a set back for the plant, but sometimes you have to.
I hope your dollars work out for your project, that flagstone sounds like a nice touch!

Just moving the plants around, no plans for division. I hit on a pic in a video slideshow and it appears there are 2 blues so I'll have to go through my notebook and I.D. them. They're awfully crowded at the moment. Like Evan mentioned above, I've got Maple roots to factor in...
