@Fleur569 Thank you for sharing this magical photo of the Red Shouldered Hawk. It is amazingly similar to an encounter I had 20 years ago when a pair of Red Shouldered Hawks nested just 40 feet from our house. Ralph was pleased to have hunted down a rabbit to feed the triplets, but it was in the middle of a grassy area, and the rabbit was too big for him to move. Rosie gave him a telling off, then sent Ralph to take care of the kids, while she mustered the energy to move the rabbit 10 feet at a time until she got it safely into the brush. I didn't get good photos; your photo is a stunning image of nature at work.

Hi Lori,
How nice of you to reply on my photo. This all happened in my back yard, and I photographed it through my kitchen window. I did not know the exact identity of the bird, but presumed it was a hawk. The hawk succeeded to take away its catch. This was an experience to see prey and predator in action, though somewhat sad.
Wishing you a Healthy & Happy New Year.
