Looks promising. Tiffany!

It seems like if I start watering my fan palm more, I'll see a new leaf spike very soon. I found about five dried up leaves on it when I moved it.
Plant it and they will come.

OMG Waycool that is a huge palm, I've been all over Fl and never seen one that big.

Tiffany, that's neat that your palm is doing so well, it's hard to tell since so many look the same when young. Sable palms are very cold hardy.

I tossed some coconuts in my garden for decoration I brought back from the Keys one year. One of them started growing and kept growing despite a couple freezing cold winters. I eventually dug it up and gave it to a friend, I didn't want a coconut palm in my garden.

I'm going to dig this Areca palm up real soon. My Dad gave it to me over 40 years ago when we bought our first home, kept in in a container there. I planted it into the ground at this house maybe 20 years ago when it outgrew the pot, not knowing how big it can spread. I thought it had died from a bad freeze a good five or more years ago, then last year it comes back up. I can't have it growing where it is, hopefully the roots don't go too deep. It's pretty if it stayed this size.

I'm sorry that I've not been contributing to my own thread. I'm still getting over covid. It's been nasty.
I planted this queen palm maybe 4 years ago. It was about 4 ft y'all then on a 2 gallon pot. It's become a monster!
It's somewhere between 20-30 ft at least.

One thing I've never been able to understand is why plain green Rhapis excelsa are so expensive. Especially here in Florida. Because they are such aggressive multipliers, they have to be thinned every single season. These 3 stands of Lady palm originated from a single 2 Gallon palm that I bought at Home Depot several years ago for $15. There's a 4 th stand I didn't photograph.
At the time, buying the exact same palm at the local independent nursery would have cost me $45. Now, that 2 gal palm at the same independent nursery is a whopping $75. It makes no sense. They aren't rare. They aren't hard to grow.

Gina, hope you're feeling better. I do like Queen palms, it does ok with the cold temps?

Gigi, I've often wondered why such a high price tag on the Rhapis excelsa also.

I have Dwarf blue Palmetto palms in my garden, probably here before the house was built. I only let two grow, but lots of little plants try, got to get them quick before they take hold, then you never get them out. I do like them, we shine our lazer light on this one in the winter, it is by our fire pit.

I love Queen Palms, they can be thugs also, seeding all over, but nothing looks prettier when those fronds sway in the breeze, it is like watching an old movie filmed in the jungle. My next door neighbor put in a half dozen along the fence and I could not be happier to see them. They are taller than his 2 story house now, they grow like weeds here.

Gee Gina, you have been down with that covid for too long, rest up and get better.

Yes I was very surprised at the growth rate of this queen palm. The only palm I've ever had that was as fast is Caryota urens. They are very cold hardy. I have 2 younger ones in front.

It does seem like covid has hung on and on. Of course our tests are negative now and have been but the cough I've had is unrelenting. And the fatigue is still a real thing. Steve usually runs with a long distance group on the weekend, 10-12 miles both days. He has t been able to slog through more than 2-4 miles.

I run out of energy by noon daily and have to lay down
