Toni, I haven't grown any garlic since 2016-17. I am now in Vero Beach, FL and because it's so difficult to grow good garlics without cold weather (freezes), I haven't even tried to grow any here. I might plant a large pot or two of a couple of varieties that are supposed to grow in FL. Time will tell.

I can't tell you about growing garlics from bulbils. I always shipped the scapes with the garlic bulbs and always planted cloves of the varieties I wanted to grow.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

I have garlic scape now and I don't know what to do with it. Perhaps I should cut it before it gets too hard.

Revival of last year's thread..
Back to the discussion of 'Green garlic is when the farmer thins the garlic planting. Green garlic is young 'regular' garlic plants."
I have grown softneck garlic. Each bulb has some nice fat cloves and some skinny small ones near the center. It makes sense to me that a farmer would plant every clove, and then thin the ones that are smaller. That way is is all used.
Plant it and they will come.
