Eye Catcher is a little cutie.

Not quite iris time here yet, but the daffodils are in bloom and my camellia just started blooming.

Patience, Evelyn! I know it's hard. But all that snow helps out the water supply.

Rose Princess

Rose Princess rebloomed for me last year, too. I'm now on the lookout for more bloom stalks in all the others I acquired for the first time last year.

Chris dug a new bed next to the house, and I already have potted irises to fill it! It should be a wonderful spring with all the rain we've jad.

Thumb of 2023-02-28/shizen/6e173d'saxon' byers. bloomed very short, about 4" stem. looks very disproportionate with the large flower on the short stem. it used to be a reliable remontant, but hadn't shown up in the last couple of years, after being trampled by the fence replacement workers.

still trying to open 'phasers on stun' kanarowski - not in my usual garden palette, but a real eye catcher. i might have to find a place for it in the landscape, away from my clusters of iris beds, but amongst other plants so it can show off.

I photographed these iridodictyums today. Not irises yet (in Russia they are separated into a separate Genus), but it's still nice. As far as I understand, In the USA they are called iris reticulata

I especially love the combination of colors. I just have one type, and they bloomed for a very short time. I need to separate them - they are getting way too close!!

Yes, I bought a package of assorted at a garden store 3 years ago. I planted them among aril irises and juno. But this is not a very good place, by April they grow tall foliage and create shade for small oncocyclus.

they look very nice in clump, Laura! Do you not cover them from precipitation from May to autumn, or do you rarely have rains at this time?

I don't cover them. We do have some good summer rains, but they seem to be okay. I did lose some that I moved last spring, and now that you mention it, I do remember that they need a dry dormant period. That probably explains why I lost some. I'll try to remember not to water that area this summer and the survivors should be okay like this older clump.

I used to have way too many of them--their tall foliage after bloom drives me nuts so I've been yanking them out by it and tossing them Hilarious!
