The most recent photo I uploaded (this afternoon) isn't showing up in the 'Recent Images from the Plant Database' section. Another photo I uploaded today did show up there.

This seems to be a rare phenomenon, but I have seen it happen a few other times. I can see the photo in the database if I look for it, and I can see it in my profile's plant database contributions: https://garden.org/plants/brow...

It's not a problem for me—I just thought the species page could use a photo featuring the cones—but it might be discouraging for other users who want views? Or maybe it is a problem for me if I'm missing other people's photos...? Thinking

I think it depends on how you are captioning it. There are a few combinations of key words (e.g. "Photo courtesy of") that trigger the vendor filtering, so they don't show up.
Plant Authorities: Catalogue of Life (Species) --- International Cultivar Registration Authorities (Cultivars) --- RHS Orchid Register --- RHS Lilium Register
My Notes: Orchid Genera HTML PDF Excel --- Lilium Traits HTML PDF --- Lilium Species Crosses HTML PDF Excel --- Lilium Species Diagram
The current profile image is that of Iris 'Volcanic Glow'.

What is vendor filtering? I think I've used that phrase before without any issues, but perhaps that phrase is problematic now, but wasn't always? Shrug!

Photos associated with vendors (e.g. Photo courtesy of X) don't show up on the front page of the site or plant database. The idea is to focus on members' photos instead.

@dave should be able to comment more about what's tripping up your images.

It's true that vendor photos don't show up there, and also I believe it limits that list to a certain number of genera. So if you post photos of daylilies, it'll show 2 or 3 daylily photos and then won't show any more in order to make room for other kinds of plants.

Just today, there are more than 70 vendor photos in my 'recent plant images' lineup. And I didn't have 'show vendor photos' togged on. In fact, I never noticed that toggle until today. I am also surprised to hear there is a genera limit, unless it's a good bit more than 2-3 photos.

Instead of tripping people up using a phrase such as 'courtesy of' for non-vendor photos or not using that phrase for dozens of vendor photos, couldn't 'vendor photo, all rights reserved, used with permission' (or something less clunky-sounding) just be an optional field to click, just where you'd look at if adding creative commons info? Could that work? Thinking
