Let me start off with my Rlc Hawaiian Prominence 'America'

And there is the diminutive Ceratostylis philippinensis, it is year around just a small piece of "shrubbery", which needs to be inspected every so often for blooms, which are a couple of cute mm in size! Smiling

And the hanging-down Phal seems happy and opens more buds on both spikes. No problem watering the basket daily from the top down.

Got both the King and Den Spec... both grow wild here where I am in Aus. Did a cross of them when they where in flower, sadly mucked up the flasking of it so I'll have to do it again end of this year.
Had a few good blooms tho.

Multitude coming into spike now so the next month or so is going to be great.

Notice you've got the lovely striped Jewel orchid there, this is the Native Australian jewel orchid, different marbled leaf, not as vigorous as the stripe common one I find.

Happy February everyone! Those of you up north must be counting the days til spring. Luckily the flowers are a cheerful escape from the cold.
Ursula, I just love what's going on up in your greenhouse. I bet that Rlc Hawaiian Prominence is fragrant, it sure is pretty! My kingianum is in low spike now,I think there are 8 so far. I'm glad you are still in touch with Bill and he was able to help with the ID.
Hi BellshazzA! What a lovely show you have there, and Welcome!
I've got a little bit of a lull here although this just opened the other day

I think it's the Stan tig. They where my grandfathers that I managed to inherit. The bulb phal was in the greenhouse been tropical and I live in more subtropic/temperate area, although if I didn't get the door open to the greenhouse of a morning it definitely smelt like the fermented remains of an old portable dunny, and needed a good 10 minute venting before I watered anything. Thankfully the Stan and bulb aren't in the same area, that would just be one smelly mix of bad toilet situations.

Tried to get it pollinated naturally didn't have any luck so next time it's in spike I'll have to be the insect.

Need a few new pods to practice on in the lab.

I have seen one of those Bulbo phalaenopsis in full bloom at an Orchid show some years ago in all its glory!! It was a showstopper to look at. I was intrigued to the point that I picked up a small plant that time from a vendor. I managed to hang on to it for a couple of years, but it eventually kicked the bucket.
BellshazzA, would you like to put your location into your profile? If you are hesitant to put up your town, perhaps an approximate area might be nice. So we know it is right now Summer where you live! Smiling

I am enjoying this plant very much, I don't think my pics show the whole story, 14 spikes in the works this year.

One of the blooms lost its pollinia and acted like it was pollinated, it was done and folded. I pinched it off.
