I found this bug today on top of my gulf fritillary caterpillar. It is super short compared to the length of a normal caterpillar. The caterpillars are currently on bamboo that is attached to my maypop incarnata plant for some reference.

After doing some research it looks like it may be a Dryas Iulia caterpillar. Any thoughts?

Are you sure that is a second caterpillar?
Looks like the frit left the cuticle behind when it molted.

I've never seen tussock caterpillars eat passionflower leaves...

Thanks, this makes the most sense. I haven't seen a different caterpillar at all on the plant the past few days. So yeah , it must of been the leftover skin.
