Big Grin Hilarious! I hate dividing iris. But they grow so much that eventually one has to do it. I Made such a mess of that driveway side iris garden that I moved last year. Good thing Rio Rojo is not in there or I wouldn't be touching it. Anyway, I am not going to divide it, just find a piece I can pry off. No big deal.

New ones should be opening each day now for a while. I did find some empty spots up in that backyard bed. That means those iris rotted over the winter.

Gorgeous!!! Two of the iris that I moved here a couple of months ago are going to bloom soon. I figured for sure that they wouldn't bloom until next year, so I'm feeling really lucky! We have a sort of gully on part of our property that we're using for a compost area, and I found a bunch of iris there when I was dumping in some weeds on our last trip here, and they are now blooming. I'll try to remember to get a picture tomorrow, but they are a beautiful dark purple, like the first picture in the bottom row above. I was so happy to see them blooming! It's a very strange place that they are in, so I'll move them when they get done blooming.

Thank you. I do really like it. It works well with my way of setting up the garden to have a succession of things blooming. You can see the daylily bed just accross the path. So now I have TB iris blooming. Later I have daylilies blooming.

I know some people mix Iris and daylilies in the same bed but that doesn't work for me. I have a daylily section and an iris section. Close to each other but not intertwined.

No, it's tag is gone. I do know it is a Kasparic iris (Zebra Gardens intro). I could send you a piece after bloom season.
