Thread OP

Hello everyone! I am back. This time with a different Kalanchoe. My other one is doing good actually! But during the commotion I discovered my other one was over watered and sadly, I don't think I can save it. I have tried everything within my reach on a budget but I wanted to ask as a final I did everything I could. I feel really horrible as it's a small life that probs got extinguished due to my lack of knowledge and my mom is trying to cheer me up but gah. Any help would be appreciated. It's squishy at the bottom and I think the rot is rising so it's probs too late but qeq

Responding because this is an emergency, and nobody else has commented yet ... I don't think there's much to do here. Maybe take a loss and try again when the time is right. You can always try rooting a cutting. The site of the cut has to be well above any signs of rot; the cutting has to go into new soil, ideally with more rock in it. But I don't think that's likely to give a good outcome given how the mother plant is apparently struggling.

It looks like not enough light may have been the biggest hurdle. If that is an unglazed clay pot, I might suspect that it got too dry or that some kind of pathogen was involved, vs. overwatering. I've never seen a K. blossfeldiana rot though I never ever let them dry out. The green upper stems should propagate easily in water or moist soil.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.
