I've seen these nearly microscopic things a lot over the years and never knew what they were. They're mostly in the house, these two were in the bathtub. They are striped, fly and cute. They're not a nuisance, that we notice but I've been seeing them a lot lately. Anybody recognize them?

Just off the top of my head, I think those are weevils? I could be wrong?

If they are weevils, then that's bad for you. They can destroy your food in the pantry, especially grains and the such. Make sure to thoroughly check your food stock for the buggers!

They look like carpet beetles.

whatever it is I have noticed this same bug in my house the past few weeks. They are tiny, like maybe 1/2 the length of a grain of rice. I find them on my walls here and there, just every few days I see one. I go in and out of the house alot and just assume they come in when I do.

No, I've seen carpet beetles before and these don't match. Our carpet beetles are fuzzy and wingless.

They crawl or fly into dwellings through vents, windows, doors, and eaves. Carpet beetle adults are attracted to light

Did some Googling, and you're absolutely right! They are carpet beetles. After all these years I though the fuzzy larvae and the striped beetles were two different things. D'Oh! From now on, no more throwing them outside because I thought they were cute. Thanks so much for clearing up that mystery!!
