I hope it does great and bloom for you, it is still early in the blooming season.

A few photo's from my Florida garden today.

Although some folks consider Plumbago to be rather weedy, I just love the blue flowers. Tropical Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica) is so pretty and the seeds are flying:

Crocosmia still going strong and Crepe Myrtles are really pretty this time of year:

I'm with you on the plumbago, Lin. One of the great landscape plants, beautiful color, blooms practically non-stop, can be pruned to any size or shape that suits. Other than the Sri Lanka weevils, no bugs or diseases seem to bother it. The weevils have found something else more to its taste, too, surprisingly. What's not to like?
This is a picture of my foot. I know, I know, but I just stuck it in there for size reference because I'd never seen such huge mushrooms before. Really been a lot of rain!! Rolling my eyes.

Wow, those are large mushrooms! I'm hoping we get some rain over this side of the state in the next day or so; it's been so hot and things are so dry again.

The first flower of Hedychium greenii, a new one to me, got it last year, but it didn't bloom until - today! Graceful red flower, nice fragrance, and the foliage is pretty, too. Leaves are red on the backs.

This one is Pinstripe ginger, I think it is another Hedychium, but the flowers aren't fragrant.

We lost our little house kitty "Widget" last night. She'd been sick for awhile and I knew it was coming.
So yesterday evening I was walking around the gardening...just puttering to take my mind off it and went to sniff this Hoya bloom and found the little Tree frog using it as a hammock.
Wasn't really in the mood for pics but I had to take this one.

Oo, so sad to lose your kitty cat, Mj. Crying Mine is 13yr. old and I can't imagine the house without her. Pets are a great joy, but such a loss when they go.

The froggy is absolutely sweet! I had one nestled comfortably in one of my orchids yesterday, but he was a Cuban, so I didn't take his picture. Hey, if they keep the scales off the orchids, it's all good!

MJ: ♥ Group hug So sorry for the loss of your little "Widget". We lost our remaining kitty last summer and I do miss her. This is the longest stretch I've ever been without a pet but we've been doing some traveling this summer so the plan is to wait until fall to adopt, and we're thinking of adopting both a dog and a cat.

That shot of the tree frog resting in the Hoya bloom is really nice! Lovey dubby

Wish it was Lin, that is an individual flower of Hedychium 'Dr Moy' that the stink bugs did not get yet. They are sucking the necks of the flowers, and making them collapse almost immediately, which is so frustrating. Nothing has ever bothered them before.

Here's a flower head I caught this morning, after I cleared the stinkers off it. Second is an individual crepe myrtle flower, and last is a flower head on my dwarf poinciana.

What kind of sun does your Dr. Moy get. Mine is in alot of shade and seldom blooms.

Jan, mine does get about half a day of sun and more in the fall as the sun gets lower. The ones that get morning sun bloom the best. Maybe you could prune back some branches that are shading it? Mine are near a stand of tall bamboo that occasionally leans over and causes shade. I cut it back regularly to prevent too much shade. That being said, I think they're worth growing just for the pretty foliage, but they divide easily, too.
White Canna 'Ermine' - she's a bit more understated than the blazing red and yellow ones.

Elaine, that H. 'Dr. Moy' is really pretty but oh WOW, I love, love, love that Poinciana! I didn't know there was a dwarf variety, how big does it get? I'm wondering if it could be grown in a container? I really like the delicate color of Canna 'Ermine' ... lovely!

Hi Lin
Actually there are 3 color varieties of dwarf poinciana (Pride of Barbados) that I know of. Maybe more. There is the orange, a solid yellow and a pink variety. I have the orange and solid yellow. It only gets about 6-8 feet tall at my house and could probably be grown in a large container. I have lots of seeds of both if anyone wants some for a SASE.
