I got this plant over a week ago. I like the blooms that looks like little flames, or a parrot's beak depending how you see it. Looks really nice in a hanging basket. Still observing how it grows, so far it is actively making new buds and slowly more 'little flames' My first time to grow this one..would be fun to see it trailing with those flame like blooms.
Oh, that will look nice if it does trail. I had something similar, but no where near as intense!, a couple of years ago, but mine didn't do much. I'd imagine you'll have better luck in your zone!

Hmmm, I don't see that cultivar in the database. There's Lotus maculatus, but no 'Gold Flash'. You should add that to the database and upload your photos!

My lotus is blasting its buds..I guess our heat here is too much; but it is constantly trying to form new ones, and leaves are okay, as long as I give it a good shower everyday and repeat again later. Will have to find a cooler spot over the weekend as our temps are expected to go up to 107F.

Sadly, my lotus maculatus is barely alive... I think it got badly fried during our heat wave and the damage just creeped in..but I am still spraying the leaves twice a day..it still tries to go green, though very, very weakly. Got to try this plant once more..next time..but for now...will just hope for the best that it will try to recover..if it can do so..
