I love Lady Friend, but have had it in my garden for three or four years and it has only bloomed for me one year.

I bought Code Red last year, planted it late in the Fall -- and it bloomed for me this year. I'm not sure how the colors compare -- but color doesn't matter much if you never get to see it.

Code Red is a beautiful Iris!!

Lady Friend is a brighter flower as there is more hidden yellow hue than the darker reds. It is up to your flower preference or what it would complement in your garden. Or do you just want something different?

Then you are looking for a red with a brighter hue. LF can be difficult to get going.

Looks to me like Lady Friend has more blue to its color than Code Red. Code Red has more ruffles.

I love Lady Friend, and I haven't given up on it yet. I do plan to move it to a different location this year.
