I've never grown lilies from seeds before. What is the best way to plant Lilium concolor seeds, in a pot? in the ground? Do they need cold stratification?

They don't need anything special to sprout. Just keep them moist at room temperature. Normally, they come up in 2-3 weeks. It's not rocket science, but I would use a 6 inch pot with, say, 15 seeds. They are happy the first year even when they are crowded. Then plant bulbs out in the fall. Mature bulbs are small, and a even a nickel size bulb can bloom the following season.

L. concolor is a good species lily to start with, as they are pretty easy and often bloom in the second year. But they are not long lived, and often peter out after 4-5 years of blooming.
