Hosta (Hosta sieboldiana var. sieboldiana 'Aureomarginata')

I bought what was labeled as this, but the tag shows a purple flower. I am wondering if they just used a photo shop photo and put whatever in there? The database listing says lavender but the flowers in the photos look white to me.

Most often, if a hosta is labelled "aureomarginata" it is an incomplete/incorrect name. "Aureomarginata" simply means yellow margin and there are several that have that as PART of their names. The most common is 'Fortunei Aureomarginata'. If you bought your hosta at a box store, there's a very good chance the label was not correct.

This is a pic of a leaf on the plant I bought. I don't really care what it is, I just needed something to fill an area for now. But I would like to know who it is, even if it isn't what it is labeled. Maybe down the road I will be able to ID it. I just thought it odd that the tag hows a pic w obviously very purple flowers.

I think you've got a 'Fortunei Aureomarginata' https://www.hostaregistrar.org...

Registered but with virtually no details. It's an older variety. Lavender flowers.

As far as the tag, I think sometimes they use almost a generic tag on hostas. I don't put much stock in them.
