Happy Returns looking great this morning even in gloomy weather. The flowers really seem to "pop".

The queen of clump shots is posting!

The queen will be abdicating if the weather doesn't improve Actually, this year has been quite a surprise with so many early blooms. Here are a couple of new ones--
Southgate Yellow NOID--sometimes overlooked because it's been here so long, maybe 21 years. Shouldn't take it for granted for it's totally reliable, always comes through every year regardless of weather, and I don't seem to remember any rust. These are two plants.


My Heart Belongs To Daddy: a lovely red that always seem to bloom with short scapes here, seven flowers this morning. No doubt more sun would make a difference. It was also severely damaged by rust about four years ago, and just now seems to be recovering.

It's great to see your clump shots starting! Will this be our annual clump thread, or will you be starting another one? My Heart Belongs to Daddy always blooms short here too - usually just above the foliage.

So does mine! Not that it has bloomed much…

Need an opinion on this--should a new clump thread be started later when more people will have blooms?

I'll change the subject to Daylily Clumps 2023. Then we won't loose your images by having 2 clump threads.

Those are wonderful clumps! I look forward to when Lillian's Vapor Trails and Two Sue's really clump up like that!

First, many thanks to Jillz for the acorn and to all of you who like the clumps! We are kind of in a holding pattern now, with so many overcast days, but we had sun yesterday and some today so perhaps the buds will start breaking open more and more. Of course, LVT is ready to oblige so here's today's picture with 25 or more flowers.


LTV is the pack leader, but here is a small clump shot of my Small World Snow Owl/Malaysian Marketplace daylily. Only six flowers, but they are pretty large and very showy.



Mystical Rainbow has started to bloom and it has about 29 scapes, so shouldn't be long before there are clump pictures.

Avedon - Your Lillian's Vapor Trails is spectacular, but I like Lillian's Thin Ice better too. The form on its flower is so wonderful. That clump of Two Sues is showy too. Grubs got to mine the past two years, and now it blooms short with not many buds. Your bitone seedling makes a pretty display.

Nan - I like the look of Novelty Number.

Happy to see Nan's clump shots and know that others should also be posting soon. Debra, thanks, I'll be looking forward to seeing clumps from you. I don't have much, but here's our "usual suspect", Two Sues looking very pretty with the morning sun.
