First and second ever blooms on my seedling. I may have gotten the tags mixed up. The Tessa Ann x 4 Eyes is right beside the Tessa Ann x Nick of Time in the seedling bed so that's the reason for the odd labeling. I'm leaning 4 eyes cause of the tendency to poly and the color

Vinity,
So when the sepals are a lighter or darker tone of or color than the petals it is called a bitone or bicolor, but I have never considered if the sepals pattern is lighter or darker what that would be called. The base color looks pretty much the same to me on your seedling's blooms, but the pattern certainly has an obvious lighter color to the pattern on the sepals. Anyone know if there is a term for that?

I don't think there is any specific term for an eye pattern on the sepals being lighter than the petal pattern, it's still an eye.

The lighter pattern on the sepals is very common in patterned eyes. A few I could think of to compare to vinity's.

The same thing happens with patterned watermarks where the sepal watermark is lighter than the watermark on the petal.

I do think hybridizers are working to get a more consistent color with the petal and sepal patterns. For me, the lighter sepal on the watermark patterns adds to the pattern making it more interesting.

You know, I didn't know. I have to say, I'm real bad to barely notice sepals unless they are really loud LOL

Cooler temps, some rain, and Northfield has decided to start all over again. There are six plants with new scapes, can only wonder how many will be able to produce nice flowers. Well, this one is a nice poly and very welcome considering how bad it's been here lately, with so many plants suffering from the drought.

That is a very attractive poly, so organized and balanced looking in the photo.

I had been ignoring the two rebloom scapes on Malachite Prism because it was behind the cosmos that had overwhelmed it. Today, I went around and saw this poly blooming. So glad I went around all the cosmos today to see this!

Orion, that is a pretty one. It reminds me of Along Came Amanda.

I bought Along Came Amanda last year because Tim Herrington has the reputation of eliminating seedlings that get rust. I also thought it was cool-looking. It hasn't bloomed for me yet, but I am hoping it will next season.
