where are you located ??
first ...adenium take forever to respond to changes .... allow adeniums extra time to do their thing
hate to say it, but your soil is the reason why you are loosing plants from root rot ... need a much chunkier, grittier mix ...that will drain away water quickly
to get chunkier & grittier potting media
pull your plant from the pot - knock off all the potting media from the roots ....
to your existing potting media....
add equal amounts or "parts" of:
rocks, pebbles, poultry grit, pumice (or lava rock) coarse sand, perlite, Redwood Bark and or Orchid (Phalaenopsis) mix
before repotting - first insure your pot has at least 1 drainage hole .... before laying in the first scoops of potting soil, lay a piece of broken pottery, rounded side up - over drainage hole (this will keep the hole from getting clogged up)....or layer 1 inch of pebbles or pumice in pot bottom
after re-potting ...wait a day or so.....then water plant ....insure your potting mix drains away water quickly
also - never allow your adenium to sit in water (ever)
