Hostas
I noticed this sticky substance on this hosta. The leaves are covered in what appears to be tree sap. It's planted under a pine tree. I will likely dig it up and relocate it later this year. Has anyone encountered this problem with sap? Can it be washed off with a mild soap?

I've had pine sap on my hosta leaves, but it's never looked like it was sprayed on. It's usually big globs of sap that will eventually burn a hole in the leaves. When I get sap on my fingers I have to use alcohol to remove it. Will that hurt your hosta leaves worse than the sap?
