When I look at the leaves of my mutant morning glory plants, I find my mind and soul are at peace with the world, momentarily. It is a wonderful effect.

You have to look at *something* while waiting for the flower show!

Feel free to post photos of your morning glory leaves for all of us to enjoy!

Some morning glory strains have the yellow leaf trait.

Hi Joseph.
I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. Smiling
I find rolled edges distracting. I guess I need to work on my appreciation skills.

That is a pretty one, Alana. I'm finding that many people think as you do. Then they see the mutant flowers and go crazy hahahahaha.

BTW, I am growing the ready flow MG you sent me. It's leaves so far look non-abnormal.

Hey I am growing out the seed you sent me from your dilute ray flow MG. It's making a nice vine.

Here is another interesting leaf shot, showing what others have called "Mr. Grinch fingers" leaves.

I like the yellow leaf trait, here are a couple shots from one of my plants.

Yellow leaf trait; when I first saw one in my garden I thought I might have a nutrient deficiency. This yellow leaved plant has very large leaves.
Thumb of 2013-06-18/poisondartfrog/f4f156

I planted one seed of the "dilute fuchsia ray-flow". It has been in place for about a month and has grown very little. Another plant in the same sized pot right beside it has covered it's trellis.

They are pretty leaves, Alana. It's odd you aren't getting growth on the ray flow plant. The leaf looks very healthy.

Here us one that is a three point variegated leaf.

Joseph,
Some time ago Ron told me he thought this morning glory's purple leaves were a characteristic of the plant, not the result of any pathogen or injury. I saved seeds but did not grow it out again until this season. I don't post often enough to remember where the original thread was, but here is this year's version.

That's a very interesting leaf color. I had leaves get this way during the intense hot spell a couple weeks ago.

Is the new growth like this color too?

Here's a variegated leaf of a plant that grew from a stray seed I found in the bottom of a bag. I didn't have the heart to toss the seed. I am looking forward to seeing the flowers of the mystery plant!

Variegated variegation. That's very pretty.

All of the leaves on this plant have had that color to a greater or lesser degree. On some leaves it is only the leaf margins and petiole. If I remember correctly, the flower color was the same in the parent and it had lateral "creases" in the petals as this one does, too. I need to photograph the flower.
Tomorrow morning I am going to take time to look around and see if I can find where I posted the original photos. I bounced around yesterday trying to find it but I did not have time to pursue it.
It could be heat stress; we certainly have been hot an humid. This is the only one I have with that coloration and it is possible that this line is especially susceptible to heat.

Gorgeous leaves. Who needs flowers with leaves that spectacular?
I am loving the huge leaves this year as well- the biggest I have ever had.

I found my original post regarding the purple leaved plant. The original seed came from Emma.
