Appears that the (15) different tomato varietals I planted (2) months ago are thriving. Don't know why this year has turned into a "jungle." I have lots of green tomatoes on the plants. Hope before July I will be harvesting.

The (4) potted cherry tomato plants in the back will be ready for harvesting this weekend.

Healthy looking plants. You might want to think about pruning your plants, preferably from the start. That way the plants energy is directed more towards producing quality fruit rather than creating foliage.

I was told to thin them out to give more growth to the fruit.

I thinned out a couple days ago, but how much should I cut? I have never had this "problem."

My cherry tomatoes get just about EVERY leaf branch removed except for the tops, I do not remove suckers, because suckers are how cherry plants get their harvest. This is a fast and hot Spring, the tomatoes started slow, but are definitely loaded. Having less leaf branches are easier on the plant watering as well - as long as there is a few leaf branches left, they are ok.

I am ignorant about thinning tomato plants as I have never had to do it. I started removing simply leaf branches from my 15 plants but a believe I still have a ways to go. Does anyone have a pic of what a 6' plant should look like pruned? That would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Oh goody. I see lots of blooms today as I tour the tomato garden. So on Tuesday there were no open blooms on any of my Beefmaster tomato plants. Today they all have lots of open blooms. I think the soaking rain yesterday was good for them.

Some Roadster Tomato plants have green tomatoes set. And so does one of my Sunrise Sauce. So nice to see all this in the tomato garden.

One of my tomato plants is showing this problem. The other 14 are not. Could it be too much water? Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Sunscald and maybe BER also (blossom end rot). The next tomatoes on the plant should be fine.
