I thought a rainy-rose would be an appropriate start for our June blooms. And as can be seen by the ragged leaves, I am not the best at these high-maintenance plants.

Lots more blooming, but I'm not happy enough with the photos to post them. Too sunny.

Ha ha -- how often is 'too sunny' a problem for us?? I know what you mean with the photos though, that can be a harsh light. You are about 1-2 weeks ahead of me, so it's always nice to see a preview of things to come in my own garden. My peonies are still at the lollipop stage.

This will be a nice combo when it matures - Eskimo Sunset acer pseudoplatanus with Ben Ledi helianthemum in front and a Mexican hair grass behind (I moved three babies last fall, you can barely see one to the left but they should size up quickly). If we can muscle it up the hill, I may place a large scorched root wad/stump behind it all.

And finally my peonies have opened. Both are NOIDS that I got as gifts from my first neighbor. I am especially fond of the single for its vivid color; the double opens as a delicate pink then lightens to almost white, but often ends up with its face in the mud during our June rains.

Location of where my new potting shed/cottage will be going (adjacent to chicken coop), surrounded by new beds for me to plant. Removing a lot of grass. Getting help with this project. Though I will be doing all of the planting of course. Hoping to put in some shrubs that I really want, but I don't have any space for in the rest of my yard. Including purple smokebush and several hydrangea serratas (looking at grayswood cultivar and others).
