Sheryl, do you have annual Coreopsis growing wild there too? They're a really sweet plant, and so easy to grow from seed. They're often in wildflower seed mixtures, and among the first plants to bloom in those mixes.

And speaking of Helenium, I've got one I started from seed last year growing well, and I think it's starting to develop buds! They're kind nondescript when not blooming, so I've started some before and am pretty sure I weeded them out the next spring- still kicking myself over that one!

Volunteers, they have been in this place for 4+ years now. They come up rather thick so I do transplant some ,and the transplants end up much smaller.

Wow! So pretty! I have some plain yellow ones that are just now starting to bloom, but those are just so much prettier with the red and the all red! Awesome!
