I have some strange bud on one of my peony plant

It's like it opened to soon, stoped maturing and dried/rot

Anyone as seems this before ?

It is normal to abort buds if the plant is stressed out or does not have energy to develop it. Even older plants do that from time to time.

Is it a Lois Choice? It has the ugliest buds that open to beautiful blooms.

Ah yes - but it does open Thumbs up I saw a few of these aborted buds this year and just put it down to extremes of weather/temperature.
