Mike said: Although yesterday morning was nice, smoke started coming back down the Hudson Valley yesterday, and it's hazy and smelly today. But I try to keep some perspective... this is nothing compared to what our forum members in California and some other states have lived through.

This haze irritates my lungs so much that I cannot even go to buy pots to plant recently acquired small roses You could tell that this is some serious air pollution; otherwise nothing can stop me from going to nurseries I've also planned to buy two or three more small roses
PeggyC said: We have very bad air quality in Cental North Carolina -- 111 -- don't ever know it has been that high. Can't smell it, but did manage a photo. All I wanted to do was take a few photos of the trees after they were trimmed, but the smoke showed in many pics - this one was the worst.

(me - headaches - which I never get) -- went back to bed! It is better today 0 7/8/2023 - we have Sun!

LittleAnnie said: I'm in northeastern Ohio, close to Pa. Our air is great right now, but, I agree, this will happen again and I don't look forward to it. This will affect a lot of people who work outside and can't get away from it...also, wild animals. I'm north of Youngstown. Can you tell me what city you are near?
cwhitt said: I'm in Columbus. You?

cwhitt said: @LittleAnnie - traffic on Sawmill is crazy.
Smake is back in Columbus today - time for me to stay indoors.

That's because of the sulphur in the smoke I guess. So there can be a silver lining...if your lungs hold out. I used to wear a n-95 mask outdoors when we had poor air quality when I felt like I had to go out to water roses or shop.
