Martagon season is nearing its end, and it's time to show my first time bloomers for this year. This does include a few that tried to bloom last season, but didn't muster, and I removed those buds that caused unnecessary stress. The order here is according to bloom time, and my coolest ones come near the end of the season.

6 - this one looks nearly identical to #1, but with completely different parentage.

8 - this is one I didn't allow bloom last year. Not sure what happened, no evidence of fasciation that I can see. Individual blooms are only 1.5 inches.

I still work with hybrids close to L. tsingtauense. I've always hoped to get the ruffled foliage with an L. martagon style flower. No more open pollinated seed lots with these, though. I only get variations of the ubiquitous orange flowers and bad inflorescence structure, like the pics below. So from now on, only deliberate pollinations with these.

More new flowers this year than all my previous years combined. As Darm likes to say, I'm happy.
